Looking for answers

Mental Health

Maybe you’ve stumbled across my page because you are looking for answers, either for yourself or for a loved one.

You want to try and make some sense of this painful disorder called bipolar.

Well, let me tell you. It doesn’t make any sense. There are no good reasons that I can come up with to tell you that you deserve to feel the way that you do.

No one should have to feel the pain and despair that comes with clinical depression. No one should know what it feels like to have your brain skip out of your head because of a nervous breakdown.

But here we are. Feeling these things. Suffering.

We’ve got to do better.

When I was sick, I didn’t want to manage. I didn’t want to mask my symptoms. I wanted to be healed.

Thankfully, nearly 7 years ago I discovered that a hormone imbalance between estrogen (specifically estradiol) and progesterone was making me terribly sick and was causing my bipolar disorder and hallucinations.

I have been taking progesterone ever since I found out about this imbalance and doing so has helped me to live!

I don’t have all the answers. I don’t know if progesterone will help everyone with bipolar disorder or schizoprhenia or schizoaffective or depression or anxiety… I don’t know.

But I do know that it will be worth your while to check into it. Because if your mental and mood disorder is caused by low progesterone you can fix this imbalance and you can be healed. You can live a life that is symptom free too.

Don’t be afraid to do research. Reading will make you feel more confident. If you like biomedical research, look for articles that show the impact that our hormones have on nerve cell communication. It’s all there in biomedical literature. Now is the time that this information trickles down to us!

If you have any questions at all. Comment on this thread. Or send me an email at doris@dorisking.net. I would love to hear from you!

You can get through this, I know you can.

Good luck!

~Doris
